If your plans are bringing you to Lubbock in October, this city has plenty to offer. This month continues Tech football with only one game scheduled on the 11th. We do play Texas on November 1 so Halloween night should be a busy one. This city is bringing out the red and black so get your Tech gear at Double T Bookstore at 1103 University Ave. They will set you up with everything you need to show your fan support.
This month caters to the Halloween fanatics. The haunted corn maze opens up for your frightful delight, and at the end of the month all stores in the South Plains Mall will feature Trick or Treat for the children with a sweet tooth. Many bars and clubs on in the Depot District will feature Halloween-themed events with costume contest for cold hard bone chilling cash. If walking around with no pants is for you, then try Nightmare on 19th street because that is what they will scare off you. So for all the ghost and goblins out there, we invite you over to Lubbock, a Lil Old West Texas Ghost town and have the wits scared out of ya.
Well a visitor has to eat. Let us recommend some of our favorites. For the penny-pinching college student just here for the game try Party on the Patio at Ruby Tequila's. This upbeat atmosphere is filled with good Mexican food and a featured band of the week. Orlando's is good hometown Italian food at a reasonable price and is locally owned and operated. Try Cap Rock Cafe a place with a diverse menu, when nobody can decide on what to eat.
No matter the reason for your visit to my college town rest assured you will have a clean place to stay with friendly service at the Arbor Inn and Suites. Book early because we can get busy and actual sell all 73 rooms.
